Call for Trainers Scalable Campus Network Design and Operations Training

KENET invites dynamic trainers who can collaborate to build the capacity and diversity of KENET Members campus LAN leading to increased understanding and the more effective use of best practices in the development of scalable campus ICT infrastructure. As a trainer you will train under the scalable campus network workshops designed by KENET.

The Scalable Campus workshops are designed to impart campus network & system administration skills enabling the network/system administrators to effectively run and administer a large-scale campus network. 

The trainers will support KENET Capacity Building initiatives including:

  • Developing relevant training material and labs
  • Organising and coordinating training events
  • Trains participants on assigned topics
  • Develop training reports

The trainers need to meet the following minimum requirements

  • Has undertaken a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience of atleast 5 years working in a large campus network as a senior ICT officer, Senior Network/System Administrator
  • Additional certifications in Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent
  • Minimum experience of 2 years working with Linux/Unix systems

Trainers will receive the opportunity to interact with a dynamic group of partners & KENET senior engineers, conduct training activities with access to a library of training material, access to the trainers’ online discussion list for engagement with fellow trainers as well as periodic webinars to continually build their capacity.
